Traditionally festive seasons around the world are treeated as special moments to commerate different events according to our believes. The christians have different commemorations all round the year, starting with Easter period when they remember the crucification, death and ressurection of Jesus christ. Meanwhile, the muslims have their IDDs when they mark the end of a fasting period and a moment to share with the less fortunate in the society.
Different countries too have special days in their calender when they celebrate events that are hisorical. In Kenya, the 12/12 is an independence day that reminds citizens of the independence they got from the colonial masters. It is a day that is celebrated a cross the country with the president presiding over the occasion mostly from the capital city as he deligates other representatives to different counties.
The 2017 Independence day was no exception as every Kenyan citizen prepared to celebrate this day in a style they know best. Mostly people will cook, eat, drink and visit friends and relatives.In Murang'a a duo made their preparation for the festive day, due to the financial constraints amongst the lower class, they stole a goat from their employer to be slaughtered on this occasion. All didnt go as planned as it was not long before they were caught. One Bedan Muriithi, plead guilty before a resident magistrate who order for a probation report before issuing the judgement. Mean while his accomplice escaped with handcuffs and the police are in pursuant of him.
