KCPE TOP GIRL INVITE's AN EXAGGERATION

Goldalyn came to the lime light after the release of the 2017 KCPE results by the CS Fred Matiang’i. She emerged the best candidate in the country scoring 446 marks out of the possible 500. Since then the girl has earned herself a celebrity status in the country. Some people are finding this to be gone too far as the girl is literary everywhere. Kenyans being known for criticism have not even spared the little girl who has struggled her way to the top while living with albinism. Beating the odds of disability Goldalyn have inspired many especially the people living with albinism, proving to them that it is all possible.
In Kenya, as soon as the KCPE results are announced, the main stream media will always try to catch up with the top students and share their feeling, struggle, pain and joy to the top. This year’s KCPE result announcement broadcast took a different twist with the emergence of a top candidate being an albino. Almost all the media houses had their focus on this young lady with albinism who had emerged top in the country forgetting the second, third ..Et al. Live interviews during the prime hours were being carried out from her home in Kakamega and every media house wanted a pie of the little girl.
After the announcement, Goldalyn became a guest of different institutions, events and even the state. First was the ASK – Albinism Society of Kenya, yea this was expected, they had to celebrate one of their own. State House invited the girl to the house on the hill and later to Kenyatta’s inauguration ceremony. The recent event that Goldalyn was in attendance is the Masinde Muliro University graduation on 15th December 2017. Her attendance and being given an opportunity to address the congregation has raised discussion among the KOT. Others feel that this has gone much too far and it might distract the little girl, while other feel that it’s a form of appreciating and encouraging the girl. Go go go Goldalyn the sky is just a stepping stone.
